Open Rank Clinical Faculty, Transplant Surgery
The Department of Surgery at the University of Virginia (UVA) invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level in the Division of Transplant Surgery. Rank and tenure status will be determined by qualifications. The successful candidate will join a highly productive and expanding abdominal transplant program dedicated to the surgical management of patients requiring complex multiorgan transplantation.
Clinical responsibilities will include the evaluation, operative management, and longitudinal care of patients undergoing liver, kidney, pancreas, and multiorgan transplantation, as well as surgical management of endstage organ disease and transplantrelated complications. The position emphasizes excellence in deceased and living donor surgery, advanced immunosuppression management, and participation in innovative approaches to organ preservation and allocation.
The role includes active participation in medical student, resident, and transplant surgery fellow education, with opportunities to contribute to curriculum development and mentorship. Robust clinical, translational, and outcomes research opportunities are available, supported by strong institutional infrastructure. Tenure eligibility is dependent upon qualifications.
